The perfect jazz basic. Capezio's Jazz ankle boot is great for beginners and experienced little ones alike. The leather shoe features stretch panels for ease and custom fitting, a textured split sole for traction, and a free-floating arch that's easier to point in.

Nice Shoe - Be Careful with Sizing
|

| This is a GREAT dance shoe, but you need to be VERY careful on the sizing. These sizes are mostly for little kids, though. The words "big kid" should be taken out of the title/label. The sizing chart that Amazon provides is misleading. I purchased a size size 3 (which is my son's "street" shoe size), but the shoe was to small BY A LOT (at least 2" in length.) I had to return this shoe. It turns out that these dance shoes only go up to size 1.5 in kids' sizes, and then you need to convert your child's street shoe size to adult woman's sizing. So my son's size 3, would be an adult woman's size 5 in this shoe. I figured this out by going to discountdance"dot"com. They have a chart that shows you what size your child's street shoe size converts to. I re-ordered this shoe in the correct adult size, and it is PERFECT! My son wore them to his hip hop dance class yesterday. He told me that they kept him from sliding around and were smooth enough for him to do certain moves, such as the "coffee grinder," with more control. These shoes are uni-sex. A girl in his class also owns these Capezio jazz shoes. She has worn them for several months and hasn't had any problems. |
Gorgeous but unwearable

| These are beautiful shoes. They have great arch support. I wish I could wear them. The top of the heel grinds into the back of your heel under the ankle, and the sole under the toes and front of the foot is paper-thin. Insoles didn't help. Heel guards didn't help. I haven't yet taken them to a shoe repair store to see if anything else can be done. Realize that these are DANCE shoes and not everyday shoes. (My niece who is a dancer tells me all Capezios dig into the back of your heel.) If you don't need these for professional dancing, don't buy them. |
